LA’s healthcare market is varied and vast with 80 general acute care hospitals scattered throughout the County. Also located in LA is Silicon Beach, which houses more than 500 technology companies, including startups. Leveraging on these prospects and in order to showcase the Philippine’s capabilities in the Healthcare Information Management Services (HIMS), the country’s Delegation led by the DTI Undersecretary Rafaelita Aldaba, embarked in a series of networking events, company meetings and visits to leading companies in the healthcare space as well as with rising tech companies.

Upon arrival to LA, the Philippine delegation met with Mr. Jude Mercado of Healthcare Synergy, Inc., a firm offering software and managed services for home health, hospice, outpatient rehab and other post-acute care providers. DTI Undersecretary and BOI Governor Fita Aldaba mentioned in the forum that, “Our unique value proposition is that our industry is able to provide sophisticated and more complex services delivering value, helping reduce risk, drive market edge, and fostering sustainability and this is supported by our technology-enabled manpower; and, we have mobile and cloud solutions, data science and analytics capabilities, AI and Machine Learning, robotic process automation, block chain for healthcare, and of course data security which is very important in order for us to be successful in this transformation.”
