DTI poised in its signature trade platform
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) takes great pride in Manila FAME as the event brand of the Philippines’ premier trade platform for exports and design.
“I was gratified to note that as in the past editions, this year is marked by exquisite artistry and meticulous craftsmanship that has come to be the hallmark of design showcase in Manila FAME,” Secretary Gregory L. Domingo said during the recent MANILA Fame.
Domingo noted that through this signature event, hundreds of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the home, holiday décor, and fashion industries are given an enduring platform to promote their products of outstanding quality to the world market.
“Manila FAME is complemented by CITEM’s campaign to showcase Philippine products abroad in premier trade fairs,” Domingo said.
Domingo said that key to our success is the strong partnerships that government has forged with the private sector of which Manila FAME is an outstanding example.
Domingo added that the partnership has built an enabling business environment and continues to increase the competitiveness of Philippine-made products.
“Truly, there is much to celebrate and be thankful for. But we cannot afford to let up in our efforts. We need to sustain our momentum to realize our shared vision of inclusive growth,” Domingo.
Domingo also said that even as he thanks CITEM and all the agencies under the DTI’s Industry Promotion Group for their sterling service, he urged them to double their efforts to surpass current accomplishments.
“We also thank the Manila FAME exhibitors for their perseverance and unending support. Your creativity, passion and dedication are a blessing to our country and a most prized asset,” stressed Domingo.
Domingo also thanked the foreign and local buyers. “Please continue to patronize Manila FAME. We commit to always give you the best in both quality and value,” Domingo said.
Domingo was also impressed by the quality of work of the young designers of Red Box, CITEM’s training ground for artists, in terms of philosophy, product design and execution.
