The Aeromart Summit Clark PH Exhibition formally opened today (June 5, 2018) at the ASEAN Convention Center in Clark Field, Pampanga where 64 foreign companies, 51 local companies, 13 embassies and chambers, six schools, four local industry associations, and three foreign industry associations showcased their products and services ranging from maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations, aerospace parts suppliers, and aeronautics and flying schools. The highlight of the ceremonial opening was the inauguration of the Philippine Pavilion which, Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) Governor Lucita Reyes (center) mentioned during her welcome remarks symbolizes the country’s growing aerospace industry. Designed by architect Ryan Ramos, the Pavilion served as centerpiece in the exhibit and had a striking feature at its center which was shaped likened to the wings of a soaring eagle, symbolizing the Philippine national bird. From a birds-eye view, the centerpiece also looked like an airplane propeller which is consistent with the Philippines’ aim to be a recognized partner in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) and aerospace manufacturing in the Asia Pacific region. Joining Governor Reyes in the opening were government and private officials namely Trade Undersecretary for Industry Promotion and BOI Governor Nora Terrado (third from left), BOI Governor Napoleon Concepcion (second from right), Clark Development Corporation (CDC) President Noel Manankil (left), Aerospace Industries Association of the Philippines (AIAP) President Dennis Chan (second from left), AIAP Chairman John Lee (third from right), and Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) President Alexander Cauguiran (right).
